Joel S. Ratner, Chairman / CEO
From 1960 to 1987, Mr. Ratner was President of Leeco Gas & Oil, a company that has drilled more than 1,000 oil and gas wells and developed a Texas pipeline.  Mr. Ratner was also responsible for the Real Estate Division of Leeco that was involved in the development of 17,000 residential units.  Mr. Ratner was instrumental in completing transactions with Bayer Aspirin, General Electric Credit Corporation, Westinghouse and W.R. Grace & Co.  Mr. Ratner was a founding director of the Capital Banks which are now part of Regents Bank.  Mr. Ratner was a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Miami Medical School’s Mailman Center For Child Development.  Mr. Ratner was a founding member of the Advisory Board for the Adam Walsh Children’s Fund, which is part of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which is operated by the U.S. Department of Justice.  Mr. Ratner was the Honorary Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Business Advisory Council in Florida and was awarded Florida’s 2003 Businessman of the Year. 
Mr. Ratner is currently is a member of the Dean's Advisory Board of the School of Engineering at Florida Atlantic University.

 

Richard C. Ford, President / COO
Mr. Ford joined Rentar Environmental Solutions, Inc. In April 2009 as Executive Vice President. Mr. Ford joined Rentar after being the founder and CEO Puradyn Filter Technology. He founded Puradyn in 1987. Prior to Puradyn, Mr. Ford was President of R C Ford & Associates, a highly successful Insurance Agency.

 

Brian Gibbons, Senior V.P. / CTO
Mr. Gibbons joined Rentar in 2004.  Previously, he was Regional Director and member of the Board of Directors for Stencilco.  Prior to Stencilco, Mr. Gibbons was Manager of Engineering for Husky Oil, President of Sundance Petroleum Corporation and President of Video Connections Inc.  Mr. Gibbons also served as Vice President of a number of investment firms including Franklin Lorde, Dickinson and Co., and Donald and Co.  He received a bachelor of science degree in engineering from University of Utah.

 

Richard A. Warner, Vice President of Finance, President of Rentar Carbon, Inc.
Mr. Warner has been an Advisor to the Company since 2001 and joined the Company in 2007 to direct the Company’s efforts with respect to building its carbon emissions reduction business.  He has over thirty years of experience as an entrepreneur, financial advisor, business consultant and corporate executive as well as substantial expertise in technology and carbon markets.  He  founded and ran several successful companies.  Mr. Warner was also CEO of Saxonfiber, Director of Business Development of Ergomedics, Senior Vice President of Business Development of Datamed and a Senior Advisor to Fittipaldi Logistics.  He received a bachelors of arts degree from the University of Tennessee and attended the University of California.

 

Joel L. Frank, Esq., Advisory Board Member
Mr. Frank has been a Director of the Company since 2002.  He is a partner in the Pennsylvania law firm of Lamb McErlane, P.C., a firm that includes former district attorneys, civil litigators and former Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice.  In April 2005, Mr. Frank was appointed to the Pennsylvania Federal Judicial Nominating Commission for U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania and has also been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in 2005, 2006 and 2007 for general litigation.  His federal government relations have been instrumental in having the fuel catalyst referenced in H.R. 4546 – The National Defense Authorization Act for FY 2003.  Previously Mr. Frank was a Partner at Dilworth, Paxson, Kalish & Kauffman in Philadelphia.  He received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Delaware and a juris doctorate, cum laude, from Delaware Law School where he served as an Editor on the Law Review. 

 

David Halpern, Secretary, Treasurer and Director
Mr. Halpern has been a Director of the Company since the Company’s inception in 1998. My Halpern was Cost Engineer for Stearns-Roger, Inc. of Denver, Colorado, an international construction firm.  Mr. Halpern served as Liaison with The Import Export Bank for development of the Negev Phosphate Plant, one of the largest industrial facilities in Israel.  He was also Director of Planning and Budget for Operation and Expansion for Ben Gurion University.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Robert E. Yelin, PhD, Director of Technology 
Dr. Yelin has been a Consultant to the Company since 2001.  He holds a doctorate in Chemistry from the State University of New York at Buffalo, with a specialty in Kinetics and Mechanisms of Reactions and received a masters in Chemistry from Canisius College, focused in Analytical Chemistry (Spectroscopy).  Dr. Yelin has 30 years of experience as project engineer, division director and principal with national and international environmental engineering consulting firms.  Dr. Yelin is a past President and Board Member of a Multi-Disciplinary Environmental/Engineering Firm that was 15.0% owned by General Motors.  Dr. Yelin received a bachelor degree in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.  He also organized an environmental services group for Honeywell Corporation.  Dr. Yelin is widely published. Mr. Yelin has been working with the Rentar technology for seven years.

 

Gregory Ratner, Vice President Production and Manufacturing
Mr. Ratner, son of Joel S. Ratner, grew up in the Ratner family businesses and was extensively involved with the physical development and initial testing of the RFC.  Since inception he has been responsible for the manufacturing of all prototypes and currently oversees production and distribution.  He attended Miami-Dade Community College.

 

Rebecca Fisher, Director and Advisory Board Member 
Ms. Fisher has 30 years experience in creative marketing and graphic design. She has created and managed projects for Abbott Laboratories, DuPont Pharmaceuticals, Ford Motor Company, Ivax, Pfizer, Merck, Upjohn and Parke Davis.  Ms. Fisher was educated at Western Michigan University and Wayne State University. Ms. Fisher has won various prestigious awards for her work, including national Addy awards. Ms Fisher is active in community activities including the American Lung Association.

 

Howard Somberg, Advisory Board and Vice Director of Science
Mr. Somberg's education is in analytical and surface chemistry. As president of a consulting engineering company, he has designed, developed and commissioned photovoltaic factories in China, Russia, India and the Middle East. Mr. Somberg has over 35 years of experience in the technology field, and has been associated with Spectrolab, Hughes Aircraft, Teledyne and ARCO. Mr. Somberg has been assisting with the Rentar technology science for seven years.

 

HISTORY OF THE RENTAR COMPANIES

Our 50th Year

The Rentar Companies were initially incorporated in 1961 for the purpose of managing the assets and technologies of Leeco Gas & Oil Company, the Ratner family businesses.  In the years since then The Rentar Companies have been involved in Oil and Gas pipelines, Real Estate development and biotechnical research and development.  A partial sampling of the accomplishments of The Rentar Companies over the past 50 years is as follows : 

 

  • Partial funding for the University of Wisconsin development of the pharmaceutical, Warfarin (the world’s most proscribed anticoagulant/ blood thinner) commercially marketed under the name” Coumadin”.  After noting that the test animals (rats/mice) were dying after the drug was administered, The Ratner (Rentar) group created a retail product called D-con Rat Poison which became the best selling rodenticide of all time, and was eventually sold to Sterling Drugs (Bayer Aspirin).

 

  • The Ratner (Rentar) group has developed and built more than 17,000 homes in both high end and low end price ranges. The Ratner (Rentar) companies have developed properties whose population today totals almost 100,000.

 

  • The Ratner (Rentar) group has successfully developed and sold companies to General Electric Credit Corporation, WR Grace, Sterling Drugs (Bayer Aspirin), Westinghouse and other Fortune 500 companies.

 

  • The majority of the company’s revenues have been derived from oil and gas wells and pipelines.  The companies have drilled more than 1000 wells and successfully operated a Texas pipeline.

 

The Rentar Environmental Solution project has focused upon the creation, patenting, 3rd party testing, and marketing of the Rentar Fuel Catalyst.   The Rentar Fuel Catalyst is a remarkable technology which cost effectively addresses today’s pressing need to manage fuel consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
